Strike Three; Still In!

Like most of the brilliant ideas, it started with a few scratches on a beer coaster in one of the pubs in Nevizade, Istanbul, around December 2008. After extensive research a business plan has been created by September 2009. By then, the International Olympic Committee accepted Rugby Sevens as an Olympic Sport per 2016!

All went very quick from that point on: the venue that we wanted to host this tournament was selected, contact was made with our partners and the teams that we wanted to see on our tournament were selected. In order to be an outstanding tournament, a lot of attention has been paid to everything around this Tournament. This means that the International Istanbul Rugby Sevens Tournament is more than two days of high-quality Rugby 7s games. It is a complete Tour experience in which the city of Istanbul itself is being involved!

The teams and visitors will get the opportunity to enjoy a relaxing session in an authentic Turkish bath, dream away looking at the world's most beautiful sights of the Bosphorus via a boat tour, have delicious typical Turkish dinners, and of course head into the bustling nightlife of Istanbul, including the best bars and hottest clubs!

Since the very first edition of the Istanbul Rugby Sevens tournament, organized in August 2010, we have proved that Rugby is a part of Turkey, and that Turkish Rugby is now part of the international Rugby community. We will keep on investing and seeking opportunities to bring this all to a higher level!
